Steering Wheel for Driving games, what's best?

Want to get the kids a good steering wheel for driving games this Christmas, preferably without going too far over the top. Any recommendations?

I've always favoured Logitech. Mine seem to take the abuse well!

Momo force feedback can be picked up off ebay now for £40.

The newest, maybe more for grown up kids is the G25 from Logitech, with 6 speed shifter and clutch. Yours for £150 from dabs

I got my G25 today. It's great but I'm now hopeless at driving. I never appreciated how important it was to heel and toe correctly, and blip the downshifts.

The Driving Force Pro which it's replacing is also an excellent wheel (but missing a pedal and an H-gate shifter).

Go for the Logitech Driving Force Pro.. can be used on PC and PS2 (if you have one!)

Who are dabs by the way. Sorry to trouble you a bit more but can I bolt one of these to a driving seat and what would you recommend for that?

How wmuch do you want to spend only you can get things like this:

Sorry about the necro-post but I have a Driving Force Ex (I think it is) for the PS2 and would like to use it on the PC. Can I find a driver for it? Nope.

May just have to buy a G25 - Komplett currently have it for £145 inc VAT + S&H.

LOL I just opened this forum to make a post about steering wheels, and lo! someone has necroed one for me.

OK so I have a 360 and a PC... does anyone know of a steering wheel that will work with both formats?

Google returns Xbox (1) and PS2 wheels... but that's no use. Still searching but if anyone can steer me in the right direction (arf arf) I would be most grateful.

Regardless of compatability, that G25 is pretty sexy. I was actually slightly upset when UncleDave told me I could use my existing wheel on the PC because that meant I couldn't really go out and buy a G25.

It looks a bit like overkill for my halfhearted fumblings at the nurburgring. Bloody nice tho. A clutch!?!?

Also if I was to have to choose one, which I think i am, I would rather have a 360 wheel. More likely to get used.

Apparently the xbox360 wireless wheel works with the PC, but I havent got one so cannot confirm.

I couldn't justify the G25 (don't play enough) so actually bought the Thrustmaster FGT force feedback. Great wheel with really good feedback and nice firm peddals, works brilliantly with LFS and GTR2. Highly recommend it to those on a budget...
