Just upgrading my riding gear. Got a Dainese suit, now looking to get better gloves and boots. I have Frank Thomas stuff at the moment. Got my eyes on a nice pair of Nankai gloves and Sidi Vertebra boots. Any of you good people got experience of either ? Want to know if the quality is good and if this would be a worthwhile upgrade from FT kit.
Thanks.

Have a look at Held Galaxy Gloves and for very good protective boots try Daytona Evo Sport Boots. Daytona boots are not cheap but you can get them in Germany for the same amount in Euros as they are in GBP over here. The Held Galaxy gloves are around £115.00

I hear you Andy. Thing is I like a bargain, and this is the best time of year for those. Got a superb brand new Dainese Vulcan 2-piece (fed up with 1-piece) for £400. Now looking at a brand new pair of Nankai gloves for about £21 - down from £100, and a pair of Sidi Vertebra boots for about £60. Just wanted to know if either are worth having over my FT kit.

Can't fault Sidi Vertebra boots - have both summer and winter (waterproof) pairs.

The winter ones in particular are very impressive - even in torrential rain my feet remained dry.

Normally gorgeous bit of kit is Nankai. Not had a UK importer for a couple of years, which is probably why they are going cheap. Think they have recently announced a new importer. Used to be top flite kit used by GP racers everywhere - go dig out some mid-90's pics.

Yeah, I thought they were supposed to be good kit. Read somewhere else on the net some guy had a pair that fell apart in a few months use eek. Think maybe he was just unlucky. Think I'll try them for the price, but wondered if any of you had first hand experience of them - excuse the pun. Tempted by the Sidi boots too. Seem to remember reading somewhere that they're top kit. Latest Sidi Vertigo boots look nice as well - decisions, decisions.

I use to wear Nankai gear in the early-mid nineties. Nankai use to do a lot of different size gloves, that were numbered, compared with Dianese's Small, Medium & Large. The glove sizes varied a bit too, the original kit was excellent but later stuff varied (made elsewhere in the far east). I wear a medium sized Dianese glove & IIRC wore a 7 or 8 with Nankai. I'd recommend trying first rather than mail order.

Decided to have a go at the Nankai gloves. At the price they're a steal. Cheap enough to use for a while and bin if I don't like them.
