Number plate on the bonnet

Hi Guys,
Just a quick one for your opinions please...
I'm going for a bit of a racing look on the Cerb, this is a simple mod but what do people think of taking off the front number plate (which IMO when I changed over the plates a few weeks back looked a lot better off!) and getting a plate-style vinyl on the bonnet, just above the TVR logo.
Thoughts?

I'd go for it, I think the plate at the front does nothing for the car, just spoils the lines.
Alternatively, you can do what a mate of mine did with his Elise. He swapped the front plate for one that was six inches long by two inches high. He did this about two years ago and hasn't been pulled by plod once.

Many owners of the various makes of Se7ens invariably end up losing reg plates. I lost several from my Caterham to road debris (3) and through parking too close to kerbs (1). Through general laziness they rarely got replaced in a timely manner and I've never been pulled.
Many of the owners go for nose-sticker plates too, and again, you rarely hear of any objections. In fact the only one I can think of was when a chap was challenged at MoT. It passed anyway but with a minor warning.

I had a temporary plate which I made up and fixed it to the back of the passenger side sun visor.
It could be "made to appear" at short notice if required.
One Garda even commented on how novel it was to put the plate there and keep the front of the car looking so tidy.
However, the law aren't quiet as strict over here (yet) on number plates so don't blame me if you get in trouble.

I had a small one (less of the comments) but got pulled over by the cops for it. £60 fine. They got out to measure it and then gave me a lecture on the size of the digits for 20 mins. Couldnt beleive it.
We've got a sticky numberplate on the bonnet of the MX-5 from it's previous owner and I've had no problems for the last 3 years.
However, with forward facing scameras, specs etc, a low down front plate may be harder to spot, especially as I appear to have clouted mine Officer. It's the only reason I can think why it's bent downwards

The thing for me about none or bonnet mounted is that it leaves that flat bit of the centre bar exposed which looks a bit odd. Have seen a few where the centre bar has been removed and blended in at the sides to make a nice big "mouth" quite AC Cobra stylee, then plate on the bonnet. Thought that looked quite mean, will try to find a pic. Otherwise 3/4 is a good compromise.

There was a chap I met at my first Surrey TVRCC meet a couple of years back who had a BRG Cerb with a bronze coloured grill mesh in there and it looked excellent.
Maybe I could get a trebble sized stick on plate to hide the stone chips?
