Whistling at 2k RPM 944S2

My 944S2 recently started making a whistling sound at 2000RPM once above it (say 2200), it stops and the same slightly below, I'm not able to tell where it's coming from as yet, any idea's?

Erm, perhaps a vacuum leak somewhere, if it is an air-whistling type noise?

Try looking at the inlet manifold for leaks.

I presume that you are convinced this is an engine-related noise, not a wind noise from outside the car when moving?
