I'm getting a bit concerned, due to a change of location of my place of work my drive to work has been cut from about 18 miles to just 3.

Unfortunatley I can only get about 240 miles out of a tank. The car is an 84 944 2.5 manual, now I aprieciate that these were never the most economical of cars . But seriously is this normal? I know such short trips are less than ideal but I would of thought that I could expect a bit better.

Any Ideas guys?

Cheers

I don't know if the tanks are the same size, but I get around 350miles out of my 944S2, and before I get any abuse about driving like a granny, I don't!!

My tank is suposed to be 66 litres which is 14.5 gallons. The best I've seen recently was 260 miles on about 11.5 gallons(This is all I managed to squeeze into the tank) which is about 22mpg

The S2 will hold 80ltrs, but I still get around 23mpg out of it.22mpg for a 2.5 sound a little low. Check all the basic stuff first, tyre pressures, wheel alignment , binding brakes etc etc.
