Ted,

Any mileage in a DIY forum - four of the top five threads are DIY centric (including my numpty one) - or is it a case of Pie and Piston for these?

Just my humble opinion but I'd leave them in the P&P as it's get greater exposure and you'll get more response.

Doubt I'd bother going into the DIY forum - would be too much like work - but don't mind chucking in the odd response whilst I'm lurking in the P&P.

Too many forums on this place IMO, a lot of stuff that may interest others gets overlooked as you may not frequent that forum as much as your favorites.

yes

Perhaps a forum for asking about creating new forums is needed.

Some people aren't going to be happy until PistonHeads is a general-purpose one-stop-shop for all aspects of life.

"PistonHeads - everything matters"

Seriously, there are other forums on the internet, and amazingly some of them are focussed on DIY.

I'd go the opposite way and ban DIY threads. Frankly some of the advice given on here is nothing short of dangerous.

To be honest i can't really argue with that, keep PH as it is, ideal blend of what were all really interested in (Cars and driving) and the other things in life we all have to deal with.
