any wedge owners living near sutton surrey to give some advice to 1st time owner looking for help and guidence would be very helpfull ie electrics have no idea what im doing and genral info on parts best places to use for servicing etc .]

I hope you're enjoying the wedge experience. It can be frustrating at times!

I have no personal experience of www.tvrfix.co.uk, but I've seen quite a few positive comments about them. They are based near Epsom so fairly local to you.

Electrics can be a bit of a nightmare for the non expert (myself included). Sometimes there are appears to be no good reason why they play up when they do, but something to do with the earthing seems to end up being a common problem!

There are quite a few get togethers in the Surrey/Berkshire area which are always useful for friendly advice. More common when the weather is better.

Having said that though the whole circuit diagram isn't massively complicated - there are only about a hundred parts on it. The main hassle is if your wiring harness is all black wires - it's almost impossible to trace.

After earthing, the next most common problems are at the connectors and fuse box which can corrode and lead to problems. Then, less commonly, wires can get overloaded and burn out.

Dash switches not working or intermittent
Dash dials not working or giving erratic reading
Fuse box terminals corroded
Petrol gauge not working
or Wedg1es favourite dry solder joints on the ECU!
