unfortunately there's some bits from my CS soon to be available
spun off the M1 Saturday morning on what appears to be a notorious blackspot.
managed to find the only piece of M1 with no barriers and ending up rolling over and over down an embankment, ended up on the roof.
engine is intact as is the interior and the wheels, rest of the car is f*cked
my girlfriend is about to have a spinal op on Thursday, 2 fractured vertebrae in her neck and a disk between C5&6 that needs removing, hopefully at the end of the op all will be well.
If it hadn't of been for the roll bars and 4 point harnesses I wouldn't be writing this now...

200 yards from Jn 38...
thanks for all the kind sentiments, like you say, cars are replaceable...

I live 3 miles from Junction 38. Really sorry to hear that. As you say a Stradale is a very safe car in a roll - a Murcie is not something you would wish to be upside down in when the doors open upwards.
Best of luck to you both

i had to smash my side window to get out before I could open the door (looking at my right hand, wish I'd had a window smasher!), totally disorientated.
got really bad whiplash, broke the steering wheel with my ribs (no idea how?), metal brake pedal went through to my ankle bone
another 1/2 inch I'd have bled to death waiting for the ambulance apparently...not sure how (and it's something I've asked the insurance inspector to check) - no airbags deployed worst thing was, I had just about a full tank of petrol, only thing going through my head at the time was this thing is going to blow up, most frightening time of my life, ever.

Thanks again to everyone for your best wishes, I'll pass them on to Lou, I know she'll appreciate it...
In fact, she's probably reading this in hospital

Jason,
can you say about more about mway conditions ? Did you hit some oil ? Weather on Sat down here was atrocious with torrential rain and hale .

Jesus Christ!
That sounds like a seriously scary crash. Glad to hear you are both alive and hope the Mrs makes a full recovery. Your ankle must be pretty painful too?
Regards no airbags was it because there was no major frontal impact? Not knowing the circumstances of the crash here and purely hypothesizing but if you rolled several times that could indicate the car was on a sideways trajectory rather than a frontal one?
In any case, I’m sure you couldn’t give a toss right now and are just happy to be alive!
