Morning all!

Any idea what the current waiting list (if any) is for the new MCS?

Cheers.

it varies, between 3 - 10 weeks depending on allocation and available speccable cars at your dealer.

where are you based - what is your nearest dealer?

London - just by Tower Bridge.

That said I've always liked Lind at Colchester so would probably support them.

buster,
I've order 2 cars from Cooper Croydon and a mate is just about to buy a third from them - I referred him..

Cooper - ordered in beginning of Oct - coming mid Jan 07
Cooper S - ordered last weekend, coming mid Dec!!

plus mates car which is late Dec if he signs soon...

basically I've got a lot of leverage with them now and if you wanted to deal with them you can name drop and they will look after you!!

most dealers will laugh customers out the dealer on the mention of discount/deal

Thanks so much for that - it is intended as a replacement for Sarah's Aygo - we've arranged a test drive for a week on Saturday (first moment we are free). If she loves it I'll be back to you!!

Rented an "old" copper S last weekend and must say I was very impressed - Sarah loved driving it too so expect she'll adore the new one...

new cooperS is a terrific drive -I took an extended test drive and loved it. I also drove it back to back with the old cooper S and it is leagues ahead of its predessor- refinement, power delivery, and build. I recently sold my porsche boxster and was looking to get into either a new audi TT, GTI or Cayman...was invited to the mini launch and my misses and I fell in love with it.

It drives better than TT, GTI and dare I say it, was comparable to my porker for driver involvement and handling....that is saying something.

let me know - find me on this forum if you like it...my guy at coopers croydon vowed to roll out the red carpet next time they hear from me!! -too darn right!!

Pleasure is mine Tony. Just sharing the Mini love!! Glad your local dealer was spurred to do something 'proper' for a good customer.

All that is left to say is, roll on March 1st....and ENJOY

My Cooper S was due delivery this week but all current Cooper S's are being held by the factory. No Idea why, the dealer says it's a safety issue but they don't have any details.

Guys, Im thinking of going for a new Cooper S this year.

Are discounts available or is it true that you can't get one.

You may be able to squeeze a little by way of extras but that's about it. These cars sell themselves, the dealerships don't need to tout for your business. Some on here have got deals but they usually have some clout, repeat customers, multiple purchases, that sort of thing.

In the end a car costs you the difference between purchase price and the price you sell it for, divided by the number of year you own it. Mini One's are the cheapest car money can buy in the UK today and the MCS isn't far behind.

Hi Catherine, there are dealers out there willing to do a deal, but most don't need to or want to. Where are you based? I ask because I (we) have recently bought 3 mini's from a dealer in greater London (2 MCS and a cooper auto - for me, family & a friend) and have some bargaining power with the dealer. As per my note to Buster, I'm happy to give them a heads-up and put you in touch with them so you leverage what goodwill there is. Suffice to say, when I bought my third car, the really looked after me.

Let us know. Tiger

hi catherine

just recently took dely of my 3rd cooper s. the best 'discount' i have achieved so far was a stereo upgrade foc. they look at you daft if you say the 'd' word! Having said that BMW finance tend to be VERY flexible in my experience. If you are buying on the never-never, drive as hard a bargain as you can - and you'll come away feeling like you got that discount every month!
