A friend of mine is thinking about changing the wheels/tyres on his Cayenne S from 20" rims shod with 275/40's to 22" rims shod with 295/30's.

This doesn't seem like a huge difference in overall circumference to me, but he is a bit picky over this sort of thing so I said I would ask the PH massive (as the font of all knowlegde )

So guys, does anyone know what effect this change will have on the performance of the car? Will it effect, for instance, the speedo reading? (will this have to be re-callibrated?)

All replies gratefully received.

As the font of all knowledge I don't think anyone on PH drives a Cayenne.

I'll stick with my Wedge thanks guys - more reliable - seriously not my personal choice of vehicle either but I said I would ask - these are genuine questions and I sure don't know the answers to them.

At a guess I'd have thought if changing the wheel/tyre combo improved the handling of the vehicle porsche would have done it themselves or at least offered the size as an option?
