Recording Sound

How can I record the sound that I hear on websites?

I always thought i could just open Soundforge and it would record whatever was being pushed out to the speakers, this does work, but it records it really quietly, and even adding volume to it is no good.

I used to be able to do this, as we used to be able to rip quotes/sounds from DVD's played in the PC. But since i've changed the soundcard, i cant do this any more.

Any help much appreciated.

What sort of sound? Chances are you may be able to find the sound file in the source code and download it directly...

i'm trying to rip some engine sound ringtones off the porsche website, and the missus wants some music from a flash animation.
