Bloody dealer lost my booking
Discussion
How blooody difficult is it to enter a booking onto the system. A waste of an hour of my time
At least the receptionist was very apologetic and offered to have the car looked at anyway, unfortunately the courtessy car I thought I'd booked wasn't so I had to rebook for next week.
Rant over.

Luton. To be fair they seem very good but have apparently recently set up a mini call centre with new staff who aren't quite up to speed yet. They managed to register me as a customer but not the booking. At least it's not a serious issue (it's the old damp carpet in rear passenger footwell problem)
Perhaps someone can tell me......
If you go in for warranty work as opposed to cash work, does the dealer get any less for the work? Could a dealer be tempted to put off a warranty booking in favour of cash work?
No dealer I've been to has given me this impression, I was just curious

All work is work and there no preference either way for a dealer. Warranty work is monitored to ensure it is dealt with in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
From my experience most Vauxhall dealers don't know the meaning of timely! (present company excluded)

Paul - You should have taken it to where I told you to

If you mean the place that did your front end repairs, I have been there and got a quote. I will probably be booking it in for the respray as soon as I have the money spare (roll on xmas bonus woo yeah). They quoted £525 to repray whole rear quarter panel and door and blend the two. It'd be cheaper just to do the quarter panel but I'd rather pay a bit extra and know it's going to look even.
For more run of the mill things it makes sense (I thought!) to go locally (Luton is just up the road from me).

Uh huh. know the one. had a real problem with one of the front of house staff there a couple weeks ago. really agressive. and when I pointed out a problem with the history that is shown on their computer, it said "we always make mistakes sir". Good GOD ALMIGHTY! Thats like admitting your company is going to botch up.
Wont go into details cos it would take too long but I was fuming when I left. That was two weeks ago and they STILL have not rung me to tell me that my new belt tensioner is in. So now I have a car that I dont really want to drive until it stops making a noise like fifteen pre-menstrually tensive cats in a sack and a dealer that seems to have gone so arrogant that they dont care enough to worry about customers that spent 37grand on the most expensive car that Vauxhall sell.
Same old story. Great car, crap dealer.
