In case you didn't know, you can plug any USB keyboard into your xbox 360 for typing (xbox live messages for example). Handy. Never tried it though.

Does anyone else have any useful/handy tips?

Has anyone tried mega hi def 1080p mode?

1080p is not worth it currently as all the games are native 720p (future ones may be made 1080p) so they will probably look a bit worse as they will have to be upscaled to a 1080p picture.

You can also plug a USB mouse in to navigate bits too, should come in handy when they release the web browser for it next year...

And you've got to have a 1080p set, not just a 1080i set - most of the ones sold up to August will not be 1080p!

Web browser? I didn't know that was planned... should be interesting at least, one of the few endearing features of the ps3 is its web browser.

Didn't know about the mouse - definitely handy.

Also you can turn off the xbox from the controller - hold down the 'Xbox' button on the middle of the controller then select 'shut down console'.

Can't imagine there's anyone that didn't know that though!

I'm interested in this.

Has anyone linked the Xbox it to their PC?

Can you link it up to an XP wireless PC?

Can you plug in an external hard drive into the USB port to play media files through the Xbox?

All I have done is play games.........

Another tip:

Now the colder weather is drawing in, leave the 360 on all day and when you return at night the room will be cosy and warm. I'm sure they chuck out more heat than an electric fire laugh

It's fantastic if you have a media center pc as it is an extender and you get the full mce experience!! It also means you can get an old pc and stick media center on it and hide it rather than pay a fortune for a small form factor pc.

"an extender" - do you mean that you can access all files from your PC?

MCE = ???

How do you "stick media center" on an old PC? - Is it just a different version of windows?

Thanks

According to the xbox website - www.xbox.com/en-GB/pcsetup
You can only view pics and music if you are running XP.

Is MCE just another version of windows?

Thanks

Tom

It used to be just MCE I think, but the new pacth a few weeks ago opened it up a bit more. This is the line from Microsoft as to what the patch did, not too sure what it means though.....
