xbox 360 profile help

I just signed up tp X-Box live and it told me that my profile name "Dobbo" wasn't available, and I needed to create a new one, which I duly did.

Now my original profile including all my save games is gone from my hard disk... F**K

Anyone know if it's recoverable?

Otherwise I've lost ALL my progress in games including 20+ hours in test drive, completed dead rising, completed GoW and got to act 4 on Insane, the whole fukcing lot.

well now it seems my Achievements are intact but my save games are lost. ho hum.

I don't know if it would work for your save games, but you can recover a gamertag from xbox live. Its all stored on the world wide web you see. There should be an option somewhere to 'recover a gamertag' and then you can do it from there. Alternatively you can change your gamertag, although I do believe that Microsoft want £8 for the priviledge!

I had simular problem, At somepoint in the last year I must have signed up for xbox live on the pc, now I've got it working I tried to sign on with my profile name and now I have two seperate account, but my online one has none of my progress!
