Is it possible to reclaim your defence costs if you are found not guilty of a motoring offence?

Yes. And yours too for petrol, parking, time taken plus loss of earnings up to £50 per day.

There *are* limits though - for example a very famous traffic solicitors office warns that even if you win you may be £1000 out of pocket. I have never with my own eyes seen where the limit lies but from this I presume it is around £3000 for just the solicitor although thye may allow more for your own costs and expert witnesses etc.

Not in Scotland I'm afraid; not a penny, no matter how innocent you are.
Although I have managed to get payment from the Fiscal in a case where they should not have prosecuted, but it took the threat of civil action and newspaper involvement to get the money out of them.
