Thought I would start another thread in case anyone else missed the last one.

The female end is normally hidden behind the passenger seat, I cover it with a rubber swimming sock just in case a metal something or other managed to find it's way in there - the cables run under the mats, through to the battery terminals deep within. It's on about half a metre of cable, so it's easy to pop it out onto the seat. The male end connects to it, with about 12 feet of cable, so it reaches most batteries/terminals. Marvellous piece of kit.

PS Sorry for lack of quality, they were taken on the mobile. grumpy

Looks pretty good, but why inside the cabin ?

A few years back my dealer fitted much the same sort of connector under the bonned for a few quid, and either way you have to open the door...

Is this the kit that Leven produce or did you make it up yourself, any tips on making it if you did so, I have the anderson connections at home just need to makeup the cable.

It's an Anderson plug IIRC - the recoverey services seem to have them on their vans these days too.

I think you will find the 175amp versions a little more reasonable at VWP (which look remarkably similar to the TVR & Leven products)

Hi folks,
I didn't make it up myself, it was there when I bought the car. I'm not sure why it's in the cabin rather than under the bonnet, all I know is that it works well and stops doing headstands under the passenger compartment.

I just replaced the under bonnet one I have on my Chim; the plastic body had suffered severe heat damage and fell apart. I bought a half plug to replace it, and also got a nice silicon boot and cap from Demon Tweeks to protect it.

Anyone who has one of these Andersen plugs mounted on the chassis behind the rad (the usual spot) should check them. When mine fell apart I was fortunate that a/ the battery was disconnected and b/ the earth side fell apart first. The lead literally just fell out as the casing fell apart; had it been the positive lead and the battery connected you would be looking at a direct short to earth direct from the battery with no fuse - or FIRE for short. eek
