help needed please(gearbox)

Hi i need advice please got another gearbox and the imput staft on the new box is shorter than on the broken one but the splines are the same so i asume it should be ok to use but need another opinion plaese

Phil we call you drop-down for a reason, no gearbox is ever gonna take the punishment you give it!!!

Theres people that think they drive there TVR hard then theres you.

You still on for sunday to try and fit box ?

It won't engage the clutch plate splines or reach the internal shaft support fitting. If it ain't the same, then don't fit it.

how much shorter, and is the box from a chim?if is then you need to ask why its shorter,what broke in the old box?if you broke the input/mainshaft then thats possibly why its longer,i take it thats what your comparing it with(please check this)failing that mmmmmmmm.

hi the shaft is only little shorter when you look from the top on the old one it patrudes out the bellhousing and on the one i got to go in it is just inside the bellhousing!?????????? i was told the box was out of a V8 SD1 but i think it might be from a sherpa but not sure?

vapy,cant you get your old box fettled,if you fit the s/hand box and it dont work you will hit the roof im sure,or possibly get a reconditioners to make one good one,if its sherpa, or otherwise it will have ratios that will possibly make you cry,good luck with this problem.

Hi thanx for your help have decided that im going to get the old box reconed got quoted 200 to sort it ! so will stick the other one i bought on the bay and see what happens thanx again for your advice
