Connecting laptop to Cerb

How exactly do you do this?

i.e. what cables do you need?

where do you plug it into?

I posted this a while back ...

basically got a serial adapter to usb from ebay - link wont work but there are others if you search rs32

load software for cerb email me if you need a copy

plug and play (ish)

Or use an older laptop that has a serial port......... I bought one for £50 that i just use for Cerb setup. TBH it wont do much else

I had a lot of trouble with the USB/Serial adaptor cables. When i did get it to work, the computer kept locking up.

Where exactly is the connection on the car?

Right down in the passengers footwell - remove the carpet panel and you'll see the MBE alloy box, undo the 4 allen keys and the connection is in there.

It's inside the ECU.

Make sure you earth yourself before touching the insides of the ECU.

I'm only looking for the location of the connection at the moment, not planning to do anything.

But thanks for the earthing advice.
