Buying advice 1989 3.5 efi RR

Just had a look at a 1989 3.5 EFI auto Range Rover and would appreciate your advice.
It's in very tidy condition, little rust around the tail gate top and rear wheel arches.
Interior is in very good condition although the headlining has sagged a bit, but not to bad.
OK tyres, MOT April 07, no tax, stood for 5months, 120k miles.
Underside is very dry with obvious surface rust but I couldn't see any holes!
Started first time and oil pressure light went out immediately.
For sale at £600 - so what do you think?
I want it as a winter barge and if it fail MOT next year I'll bin it.
BTW it's LPG converted

My 87 3.5 goes like a train so for 600 you can't go far wrong.
Does it run and pull well? Does it respond properly to the throttle? The 3.5 does sometimes have ECU issues but it can be fixed with a relatively cheap ECU repair.
Are there any tappet noises? What may sound like a tappet could be the lobe worn on the cam.
Again this can be fixed and maybe even an improved cam profile.

Many thanks for your reply.
Not familiar with the car but I would say that it seems a little sluggish. Seller thinks it needs a service?
He also says that he switches back to petrol to overtake.
Having read up this afternoon I think it could be related to spark/leads/ecu issues.
I'll found out who fitted the LPG and what system they used/fitted.
BTW on petrol it seems fine but as I say not used to the car. It is a lot slower than my Lotus Excel!
No tappet noise even on start up.

You don't say whether it's manual or auto.
I had a '87(D) 3.5 Auto. I bought it with 120K miles and sold it with 220K miles. It was generally reliable (much better than my current '98 HSE!).
The only serious failure I had was the Auto box. Before it went wrong, the telltales signs were that it suffered from "top gear rollout". This meant that if you accelerated flat out up to approx 30mph and then took your foot of the accelerator, it would then change up with a very noticable and noisy thump (as opposed to the correctly damped up-change).
If your's is an auto it, it might be worth checking.
