Internet Explorer 7...whats going on?!?

I've just come home and opened I.E. and its all different. My mum apparently "just updated it like it said!" although I.E. is totally different. I have tabbed browsing but no File/Options things at the top and it all looks different and I'm confused.

Is this a normal Microsoft update, or has something been buggered up? I can grab a screenshot it if helps to know what I'm talking about...

Just found the last thread about I.E. 7, sorry. This may take some getting used to...

It attempted to take all of the best stuff like tabbed browsing from Firefox and then add a bit more.

It seems to be a step in the right direction from Microsoft but it does have some compatability problems.

It doesn't have all the goofs, gaffs, glitches, "The internet SHALL bend to our will", CSS? WTF?, of IE6 built in to it. It has all of the aforementioned stuff in shiny new IE7 weirdness. Which means all the sites out there that worked around IE6's cruft are now broken in cool new ways by the new lumbering monstrosity.

Microsoft can not write a standards compliant anything can they? They even screwed Kerberos up on 2k server.
