Harmon / Kardon - Can it play Mp3?

Hi all,

Just a quick question r.e the standard Harmon/Kardon headunit, can it play mp3's if it put them on a CD?. (My car is on an 06 plate if this helps with the question)I know a few of you on here have the HK unit so fiqured it would be a quick yes or no answer!

Hi. I have the normal mini CD player and that plays MP3 so i dont see why yours shouldnt as the HK is the better one i would presume it does, give it a try.

Thanks mate - get my car on Saturday (counting the days only seems to make it seem further away!)
I will make a CD and try it on the drive home from the garage. Fingers crossed it works! I am not sure what the HK upgrade does to the head unit, only know that the speakers are obviously different (and there are two more of them) and that an amp is mounted in the boot in the right hand side compartment.

i didnt think it would work but did an mp3 disc and worked well. Enjoy your mini

We have a Harmon Kardon in our Disco TDV6 S and it plays MP3s. Only discovered that after 6 months of ownership.
