After 12 years of peaceful motoring, I think I finally got caught by by a scamera van this morning. I saw it and slowed down, but was the only car on the road so would be very surprised if it did not get me. Of course they were supporting the revenue argument, wide, straight, NSL "A" road, with no houses or junctions etc..
My real concern is that my Snooper 920, which I beleive is properly fitted did not activate. So do these vans use Radar or Laser ? Or could I be lucky and the guys was making a cup of tea at the time ?

I'm pretty certain it's laser on these vans.

How far away were you when you slowed down and how fast were you going when it first came into view?

Could it have been an ANPR operation. Was it a 'Safety Partnership' van?

You will find out within roughly 15 days time!

In reply to both, clearly marked with with some safety slogan, probably doing 75-80 on approach, but started slowing down 3-400 yards away, but it had line of site to me before that. Didnt bother turning the snooper off as I slowed down as it didn't go off..

As you say an expectant couple of weeks...

If I were you, with a clean license I wouldn't worry, at worst it's only three points. Some of us permanently live in expectation of bad news in the post box, due to our disease/addiction.

Would love to take law into own hands on one of these 'rseholes, and park up in front replete with baseball bat and tyre deflators, but new trick appears to be cycle cop sitting with them holding hands inside van.

Thats what concerns me the SLD920 is a laser jammer.
Anyone know of any way of testing these devices, apart from my recent experience..

Possibly because the police have sensed that it is only a matter of time before the GATSO attackers switch their attention.........
