What rpm are you testing the exhaust at? mine was 108db at 5200rpm as was Clives.... but recently Grahams was 96db at 3000rpm at SVA all with used std factory exhausts.
My opinion to reduce noise more (if your silencers are in good condition) is extra length and a balance bar.... this made a much larger drop than different silencers.... tested mine before and after using the same meter & location and it dropped 8dbs.

Yes that was me, but am I alone. It does make a bit of difference and has got me below 105dB, just. But having talked to some people it has been suggested that the boxes are not big enough.
I think it will be more difficult for most Ultima owners to reduce noise via silencers mainly due to the fact that they are individual and so far apart. I have a bespoke system with much longer primaries, a balance bar and the silencers run down the top of the gearbox next to one another and I intend to have one large silencer fabricated ala GT40 and have been reliably informed that if it is designed properly should run at below 100 db's. It is only 103 at the moment with 650 bhp which I think is very reasonable and largely attributable to the overall design of the system.
I thought of this during my build. I fit two type of boxs, two USA truck mufflers which means I lose some power, but the noise goes down from 118db (nice for the road) to 98db for the track. I would suggest its the only way to go. Trying to repack the same boxs is just continual hassel. I can change the boxs in 30 mins ready for a track day with ease. Would suggest new builders consider this and save a load of time later. Noise levels will only go down, soon 98db will be the standard.

I dont use the car and on track and opted for the same route as Shithotfast to have a louder roar on the road, swapped out the factory standard for 2 smaller silencers from Summit. Fairly easy to rig it up to change these back for the two factory items, can be made to work other way also if you are looking to reduce noise- just get yourself some spare exhaust clamps- have snapped a couple of these as they tend to go brittle.....
Lesser power motors are not as at risk of being damaged by over silencing and are generally not as loud in the first instance. The amount of power lost is fairly minimal but it may also be worth bearing in mind that damage may be caused by restricting exhaust gas exit so don't just throw any old silencer on the car without doing a bit of homework first.
