I've seen about 5 sites in the last few days with the double black cable across the road which I assume to be speed monitoring boxes. Three of the 5 were just before gatsos so I assume someone is doing a little project to see whether drivers slow down just before gatsos. Of course they do !
The things were all up the M90 and A90 last time I travelled up to Dundee, Fife has its fair share at the moment as well.
I've just assumed it is the usually busy bodies, gathering statistics.
Which camera site were you refering to btw, A1?

Yeah I assumed busy body surveys as well, unless plod is hiding down a side street somewhere.
The 2 camera sites with black wires are Slateford Road just before the filling station, and Calder Road just after Arnold Clark
