cannonball and donations
Discussion
Hi all,
I dont want to write a sob story but this year has been rather difficult for me and my family after the sudden death of my brother's 6-year old boy in January. He was playing football on the saturday, got diagnosed with Leukaemia on the Tuesday then died on the Wednesday. Its a parents worse nightmare and believe me, what I experienced is not something I would want my worst enemy to experience. Obviously the pain never goes away especially for my brother, his wife and daughter.
We have done alot of charity events for the "Children with Leukaemia" charity this year. Half marathons (I did the Chester one. Was hard but did it in just over 2hrs), parachuting and a recent charity ball. All in all we've raised over £30k just this year.
I have been thinking of another avenue to raise alot of money and thought the cannonball8000 might be a good one. With media coverage etc....etc we could get many sponsors and get my car plus two others properly decal'd up so it looks professional.
By then my car will be a VXR500, plus my mates' M6 and RS4. Also if any of you guys want to join in that would be cool.
I know I dont know many of you guys but if any of you know any big businneses that might be touched by this brief story then its an avenue to put their logos on our cars and hopefully build up a hefty sum of money for the Leukaemia charity.
I know its potentially alot to ask but I thought I would, in our pursuit to help the charity make a difference to other children with this horrible disease.
If anyone wants to see relevant websites, let me know. We have one for our nephew plus others for donating direct to the charity.
many thanks
Mike
