Have now disposed of (most) of my Westfield and am now starting to seriously look for a V8 wedge. I prefer the rounder edges of the later models to the sharper lines of the original 350i's. I would also prefer a 3.9/4.0 than a 3.5 due to suffering from terminal upgrade-itis! Am interested in this one for sale; www.pistonheads.com/sales/106418.htm
Anybody know anything about it and why the disparity in price between the 2 other TVR's either side of it in the classifieds?

quite right, whatever you do make sure the outriggers are ok, 3 months after I bought mine it came off the road for 6 months for some major work due to the fact that I had not looked properly!

With 4-6K you would buy a 400 in need of a little work, but the dogs bollox of a 350. The 350 is a fine car and would turn heads just as well as any other Wedge, most people would not know if its a 200-280-350-390-400-420-430-450-500-660-770 or a SEAC, its only the bunch of complete nutters on here or at local meets/BBWF that would know what it is. Condition is the important thing, a nice 350 looks better and makes you feel better than a rough 400 (or one thats been messed with) So buy on condition, or potential condition if you have a few spare $$$$$s. Things like a new roof at £500 or a carpet set at £5-800 can make a big differnce to the look of the car. Other things like chassis or engine/gearbox work can cost $$$$$$$$$s but dont make the car look any better.
What ever you do for fecks sake BUY A WEDGE. and join the bunch of nutters who spend most of the day

Ditto what BadRed said. Get a good 350i or 390 for that money. Only the nutters that use this forum will know its not a 400 / 450 etc, and you'll have a great car thats not a money pit that will put a HUGE smile on your face.
As Combine has already said, look at a few to get an idea the condition you'd expect for your money. You will get a very good 350i for that kind of money and maybe even a 390 if you look hard enough.
Be prepared to travel as far as a few hundred miles for the right car - 1 day looking at it / collecting the right car from far away is better than spending 20 days sorting out a rough one which you found close to home. Its very rare for the ideal wedge to be up for sale in the next town.
If you have your eye on one, post on here - theres a good chance someone will konw the car and give you advise.
Lastly, take someone with you to look at a prespective purchase - that way you don't give in to a rough one when you hear that exhaust note singing!

At least yours will be more environmentally sound 
Entering into parenthood didn't stop me going for a Wedge and I'm glad I did it. My son loves the car!
