Just got me self 2 new roof panels from a V*s for my S2 Looks loverly they do however seem a litle tight and there is a lot of movement in the windscreen when the struts are popped. I have heard they should fit but the amount of movt in the windscreen worries me a tad!?!?!? (Also they are twice as heavy as my origional S2 ones?)

To add to my list of woe as the winter draws on suddenly my heater blower has ceased to be (ive tried the fuse the switch etc its definitely the fan/blower). Anyone had experience of extraction and refitting out there?Also is there a cheap method ie off a sierra or something?

Confused of Hampshire confusedLooking forward to the 18th Nov ( but would like to be dry and not have a misty screen!)

To get to the blower you need to get the dash out.
It's not that hard (long evening) but you will need a garage.
Firstly take off the steering column (disconnect the plugs to the stalks) and drop the roof. The bulk of the dash wiring is effectively connected by two multiplugs bar the tacho and speedo. Depending on the amount of post manufacture accessories/cables fitted the dash harness should sit on top of the existing one in which case only a little untangling will be required (it's work making a careful note of all the wires and where they go anyway).
The dash is fixed by two screws at the back of the centre console, and two brackets, one on each side between the dash and door jam.

The illumination lamps simply pull out of the instruments where required, i'ts worth having a good tidy up of all the electrics while you are at it, usually some ham fisted TVR tech has pulled about with them to get them working again. It also may be worth re-greasing the windscreen wiper spindles and motor.

I think thats all (it's been 2 yaers since I took mine out for re-upholstering - walnut finish looking very rough).

The blower is a three speed model (only first and third speed used), sorry I cant tell you where it came from.

It should do as the V8S and S3 have a different chassis and a longer door length which means that the roof and thus the panels are slightly different. If you continue to flex the windscreen it will induce GRP cracks in the bottom of the pillars and possible caus the windscreen itself to crack.

Oops i thought the difference in door length was taken up infront of the windscreen pillar.
Any way onwards and upwards anyone out there want to purchase 2 roof panels for a v8s excellent condition!!!(£100) Or have a pair of S2 roof panels that will replace mine.

Anyone out there know what make the blower is for an S2 90 before I take the other one out!
