The last time my front grill was off I replaced the side light bulbs (on the basis the grill isn't the easiest thing to get back on). As the bulbs were new it seems odd that when lit they are of differing brightness.

Can anyone offer a reason as to why, it does seems somewhat bizarre as nothing has blown, new fuses anyway and the ratings are the same ?????

Probably a corroded earth or connector somewhere.

I got this when fitting a new sidelight bulb. The bulb was not making a good connection in the headlamp bowl making it less bright. Adjusting the bulb position a little brought it back to normal.

I know it sounds obvious but are both bulbs the same wattage?

Yes - both out of the same pack plus per the previous comment i noticed their 'seat' wasn't very secure. The earth answer sounds logical but they were fine before i removed them, perhaps a case of if it ain't broke.....

Swap them over. See if the fault stays with the bulb or the holder.
