griffith dash/carbon dash

anbody got some advice on how to remove the heater/window control dash as my laminate has split.im thinking of replacing it with carbon,ive seen a picture of it done-any help. ive never tried cutting carbon before-is it easy to cut and smooth,and does it leave a smooth finish.?.
