While sitting in London traffic during LT2006 the other week i noticed the clutch feeling heavier and "notchy" not smooth when depressed, any ideas what this may be, i suspect the release bearing, but as i have never replaced a clutch on a TVR, are there any other things to look out for that may be at fault. with the exeption of the feel of the pedal when depressed, there are no other problems (not slipping / crunching gears etc).

I had exactly the same symptoms in July whilst in Switzerland. A few miles later my clutch fork snapped....

The problem could be similar to the problem i had with a creaky clutch noise. May be worth trying this before changing the clutch.

Copied this from a previous message. My local garage found this no problem, charged me a fiver to do it.

"In fact the noise comes from inside the bell housing from the clutch release mechanism. Depending on the model year the bell housing may have a inspection hatch at the bottom of it (mine did 99, T Reg) They pulled this off (so no gearbox drop needed, but access is very tight) and basically lubricated everything involved. Not only has the squeak gone but the whole release seems a lot smoother
