Maser shows MC12 road-racer

Bologna sees 1m euro car's debut

Maserati MC12 Versione Corse
Maserati MC12 Versione Corse
The Maserati MC12 Versione Corse made its début at the Bologna Motor Show.

The Versione Corse is based on the MC12 GT1 which won the FIA GT1 Manufacturers’ Championship in 2005, the Team Championship in 2005 and 2006, the Drivers’ Championship in 2006, and two consecutive editions of the Spa 24 Hours, in 2005 and 2006.

The main differences between the two vehicles are:

  • The 755bhp in the MC12 Versione Corse) compared to the 600 horsepower MC12 GT1
  • Electro-hydraulic Cambiocorsa in the Versione Corse compared to the manual gear change in the GT1
  • The passenger seat in addition to the driver’s seat fitted to the Versione Corse.

The MC12 Versione Corse is available in the official “Blue Victory” colour, but it can be customised on request with a number of optionals, including colours and livery, manually adjustable shock absorbers and data acquisition.

The price (identical for all markets) is €1,000,000 plus taxes, and it's on sale now.

not quite the point...if you've enough cash for the Mazza it's more than likely you've got a selection of 'fine' cars in the garage, possibly including some or all of the above! teacher

Cars like this tend to be more a marketing exercise and a "look what we can do" outside of homologation rules and such like.

Absolutely fecking brilliant

If you can afford the car, I'm guessing you don't need help getting the ladies. Regardless of how middle-aged or bald you are.

Looks a lot better in that shade of blue than the horrible white/blue of the first MC12 and it's now got the power it deserves.

Reminds me of a remark a friend made when we saw a similarly attractive young lady on the arm of a particularly unpleasant looking Prescott-alike... "I wonder what attracted her to that fat, balding, middle-aged multi-millionaire" laugh

Only thing is that I'm early thirties, a little cough cough portly and still have a full head of hair. But I lack the significant amount of money needed to buy a Maser MC12.

I think this racing version looks great! The street-homologated cars are just to big and not very nicely proportioned but in this racing version it's a bit better!

Notice the air vents, it reminds me of the utensil ad for chopping your vegetables. It can slice, dice, splice etc

God only knows what it would do to pedestrians, it would be great in a remake of Deathrace 2000 tumbleweed
