I know, I know...surely not somebody asking how to replace a bulb! But here's the problem...

I drove to work today and when I parked up a colleague said 1 of my rear number plate bulbs had blown. I'm going straight from my work up north tonight so need to replace the bulb in my 1 hour lunchtime. I don't have access to the bible - its at home - as is my handbook and I have not had a bulb blow before so haven't ever bothered to find out how to fit a new one.

So I've got to get a bulb and fit it in the said 1 hour. The number plate is back-lit so do I have to remove the plate or is the bulb get-at-able from the inside of the boot? If I do have to remove the plate what can I get from Halfrauds to stick it back on with? If I take the blown bulb into Halfrauds do you think will they have a replacement? Unfortunately (said) Halfrauds is the only spares place I can get to in my lunch hour - I work in the "sticks".

Any and all advice welcome!

Easy - done from inside boot head down under the cabling for the boot release. It's a.....don't know what they are called....double ended bulb, slots between two flat metal connectors.
You should be able to drive to Halfwits, purchase said bulb, fit it and still have time for a sandwich

Hi Ian,
just had a look in the Bible and it says that the lamp is accessed from inside the boot so you don't have to remove the number plate.
Good luck with your trip up north, it's p*ss*ng down here.
Do you have a Mercury V6 outboard strpped to the back?

driving Do take great care

Done & Done (Purchased & Fitted) and with time for a Chicken/Bacon/Cheese Sub lick afterwards!

Not possible without your kind help - something would have suffered and having eaten (said) sub I would have to say it would have been the lights!

Frogmans outfit in the boot - I'm ready for the trip t'up north now.

Cheers guys - PH'ers, ya gotta love 'em!

Happy to have helped.

Didn't want to mention at the time, but they are junk anyway, bit like trying to see a candle through a house brick. hehe But if you hadn't have done it might get a phobia and we had to cure you
