Tomorrow will be my first ride without the yellow vest and L plates...joining my mate with his instructor just to keep him company, have some fun and keep my eye in.

Weather is looking good too. So if you see a bright orange Suzi 500 with a non vest wearing newbie wobbling round corners in the Billericay area - chuck us a wave

Cheers guys...quite excited about riding as a 'civy' rather than as a luminous beacon! Think Probike have a 500 that's not been painted horrid orange yet, so will try and blag that!

Chilli - more than welcome - won't be in it tomorrow though - mate doesn't like being a passenger in it (he hates speed) so he tends to drive! But next time I'm gonna be up that way i'll drop you a line.

Well, got the blue bike, no yellow bib, no L plate and no radio earpeice!

And clear skies, no rain, no wind and sunny...bliss!

Felt great. Followed the other guys around and had a blast. Very different feeling to being told where to go and what to do. Also a big learning curve on how to follow people when you can't hear in advance where you are likely to be going. Makes you concentrate even more on your surroundings.

When we stopped so they could practive u turns, I chucked on in and the instructor said 'there you go, an example of a perfect u-turn', ego took a boost from that I can tell you!

Was nice to stop and chat with the instructor whilst the other two were trying to get to grips with the U turn and e-stop. Near the end the ins took us to a nice twisty lane to shjow me some advanced riding techniques, so got some free tuition too!

All in all a great day.

Amusingly enough, I returned to wearing a yellow bib recently. Something about a black bike at night...

As you may know I too like the black Gixer - SO sexy...and been looking at lids recently and guess what...satin black is my fave lid too!!!!

How is the ole' 750?

Real shame you took down the review you posted...had seen it but not had time to read it...then I did have time and it'd gone

Any chance of a PM of it if you still have it...genuinly interested in your view.

Cheers,

Virgil.
