How much oil?

Chaps, How much oil does the T5 gearbox hold and how much in the diff 98 Chimaera 500.

sorry - the invoice just states 1 replacement diff oil, 1 replacement gearbox - doesn't state the quantity.

Bible says:
For both types (Rover SD1 & BW T5), capacity is 2.5 pints.

Can't see any reference to the diff's capacity. Only bit states the recommended oil is Mobil SHC80W-140ID. I can't see it being much more than a pint though.

I changed my Griff 500 T5 Box oil just before LT due to sticky gear change when hot.
I was expecting 2.4 pints which is in the Bible and the hand book but was most supprised when over 4 pints came out, well strange.
Any how put 2.4 back in and the gear change is as smooth as silk.

Thinking aboute it Mongoose recons his holds around 2Lts Dead strange that

Hi,

I changed the gearbox oil in my Chim last weekend - it took just over 2 litres of oil to fill it, until it started spilling out of the fill hole - this is the level the oil should be at. 2 pints or so doesn't sound enough to me!?
