Wood steering wheel value??

hello!
In 11 days ( I count!!!) I gonna take my Griffith in UK.
The car is great, just, it has a wood steering wheel, and...I don't like that.
Current owner got the car like that so he has not the original.
Best solution for me would be to find somebody interested for a swap, are these wood steering wheels (it seems like an original TVR one) are supposed to worth something more than a standard one? if so, if I advertise it, how much I could ask?

The wooden personal wheels with polished spokes seem to sell for £60-£80 in good nick. I've got a Tuscan s/wheel - same as the later Griff 500 wheels - going spare if you're interested in a swap.
Sorry mate, I already contacted Xavier yesterday for a swap with cash his way with a choice of Chimaera wheels! Mind you, his wood wheel has a Griffith badge stuck to it, so it might not be for me unless it can be removed without damage.

Yes...thats the same wheel as mine but without the Griffith embellishment.
Wood is lovely to the touch in any weather and does not seem to loose its shine but I did have to spend hours on the metal section with fine wire wool and Autosol to bring it back to a good finish.
Mich nicer than the standard wheel, in my opinion only of course.......

It seems there are a couple of slightly different variants of the Personal wheel for TVR's, even discounting the wood ones.
The two types are the ones with a curved top profile to the centre piece, like the wood one of Xaviers above, and the flat top profile with a dip at the end, a good example being this:

These were fitted to the early Griffs. Later cars had a spoke profile closer to the woodrim in the picture higher up the thread (ie curved 'top'). I've got a woodrim Nardi on mine and I have to say I prefer it to the feel of the leather original. More delicate/tactile feel to the steering, but you do lose out on ultimate grip.
