Anybody on here know much about Kalmaker?
Discussion
Hi folks, I'm finally back in the UK again. India sucks and whilst Belgium is very pretty I have never been anywhere more boring in my life!
Anyway, merry xmas to all and I hope you are all in good health and spirits. Just a quick question...
I have the chance at getting a complete Kalmaker setup for my VT1 at a decent price. I know it is far and away the best realtime tuner available for the 808 computers on the Holden engines but am a litlle underconfident about setting it up myself.
Has anybody on here had much experience with it? If I buy the setup, it comes with a laptop with Kalmaker workshop on it, the PCM and all other related parts so all I would need is a rolling road and somebody who knows what they're doing to set it up.
I want to supercharge the car next year which is the main reason for doing this so if anybody can help or suggest somebody who can, that would be great.
I was wondering if LSV / Monkfish etc might be interested?
Cheers all
Woody

For the cost off all the time required you might be better off starting off yourself learning on the stock ecm.
The when confident move onto the supercharger.
Most tuners are used to certain packages and pcm's. Different PCM's approach things in different ways.
The concepts of fuel air and spark are the same, but the mechanics and specifics of each engine are different.
Im sure most would be happy to help, but will realise that to get to grips with it and get a good tune will take a few days.
The labour cost and kit costs mean you are better to buy the supercharger and tune from a specialist.
Unless of course you learn yourself on the stock pcm. Afterall you can always pop the stock chip/tune back in if you make a mistake and start again.
Most Dyno places dont charge too much for Dyno time. Im booked in with vixpy1 next week myself to case out my spark table.
My vote is to learn to do it yourself. Pomona, stevieturbo, myself and others have learnt and do their own.
