I have bought a Rover GSI petrol, 1994cc engine on a P registration, (made 12/1996) I am going to replace the spark plugs with Denso, from Opie oils, now I want to change the HT leads,

Can you recommend a quality named HT lead and do I need to change anything else regarding the ignition not oil as I will do this later.

Thanks for the advice,
Nick.

Can I just ask why your changing the ignition system? Is it due to a fault? Or mileage?

Many in TVR circles would argue that point, I tried them on the race and had them fail on me.

It was to do with mileage, but the spark plugs were at fault, so no need now.

Thank you for the advice.

My only reason for asking is being involved with old cars the amount of people I come across who as soon as their engine develops the slightest of faults the first thing they change are plugs, leads and dizzy cap. The fact that with proper care these should last years doesn't seem to enter their head, I think it may be because they are easy to change, it cleanses their concience if they have at least tried to sort it before sending it to a garage!
