Where can the earth connection usually be found?
Most of the earths for electrics at the front of the car are gathered together at a common point at front left of the engine bay (on my car at any rate!) - there's a stud welded to the suspension tower.
Remove nut, clean all ring terminals and reinstall. Bit of anti-corrosion substance would be a good plan too.
However it's unlikely that both headlamps would have bad earths here at the same time while other equipment still works from the same earth point.
Also unlikely is both fuses blowing at the same time, or both multiplugs down in the nose going intermittent... which points to a common fault which would usually be the main lights switch or the dip/main stalk.
The pods come up with a feed from the main switch as I recall, but that's not to rule this switch out as a possibility. More likely is a dodgy connection (arced contact) or melted housing at the column stalk.
