I have couple question about K-series engine.

How strong are they?
What are spec on 1.4 to 1.8 k-series? hp/torque, rpm range, etc.
Whats are the weakest spot on k-series
What are forecast of part availabilty in the future?
Which is "best" k-series, i mean non VVC etc. just standard plain k-series.
How many gearbox option that are available to fit k-series as Front wheel drive.
How big are they?
Are they all inchangeable, the part like i.e water pump, etc etc?

I am hoping to fit k-series in my mini silly light enough 100kg?, and good power/torque, cost pennies to buy.

Is there any other engine that are simuilar to k-series in term of power/weight...

Fit a honda B-series, you can buy a modified subframe off the shelf and are a million times more reliable.

Much greater tuning potential, better performance and the weight difference is very small when you add gearbox etc.

Major fail point on the k-series is the Head gasket, although they have been known to break pistons and camshafts easily.

Ford Duratec HE 2.0 litre.143 Bhp, 140 lb ft of torque.
109 Kgs dry weight compared to
105 kgs for the 1.8 litre MGF VVC engine (again-dry weight).
Better spread of torque compared to the K series, due to extra capacity and better reliability too.
