Why are people paying so much for the Wii ???
Discussion
Just been on eBay and seen a Wii with some games going for £400, another one up to £270 and one with a buy it now of £350 !?!?!?!
Sat here with my mate yesterday, he decided he wanted a Wii, jumped in the car, drove to Game, queued up, paid for it, came home with it.
So again, why are people paying so much over the odds ?? Are they stupid or was my mate lucky ??
Game said they have loads left ??

I think the general concensus is that people assume they have sold out. Certainly from looking online none of the usual places have them available - i must admit I assumed the same thing would therefore be likely in the highstreet stores too.
If people are thinking the same then they may well be able to afford paying over the odds for one from someone selling theirs.
Might take a cheeky look in all the usual suspects on Monday and see if there are any in my local shops.
As for you guys - shame you didn't buy two each and flog one on ebay. You'd have been able to keep one for 'free'.

Which one? They just laughed when I asked if they had any in stock, Lakeside and Bromley
Weird. See my post in the Wii thread, Gamestation called us to collect the damn thing as their stock room was full of the buggers and it's accessories; they needed the space
That's in Waterlooville so probably a million miles from you I'm affraid.
I went into every applicable shop in Nottingham and got laughed out of some of them. On seeing the Gamestation tip (I'd never heard of them before) I called everyone in a 20 mile radius to be told yes they have them in but only for people who have pre-ordered. FFS people why pre-order and just leave them in the shop teasing me!

the same thing happened when the 360 came out, people paying over the odds on ebay, I seem to recall one lad in the states paid 400 quid for a home made box with nothing in it, just didn't read the advert properly.
The thing with the 360 was that you really couldn't just go and buy one from the shops, so I understand the eBay thing.
My local store is Game in Worthing and they have a sign up in the window that says to just come back and try again if they have none in stock as they are having loads delivered between now and Xmas ??
