Big Bad Wedge Wanted !!

Hi all....

I'm considering a return to the world of Big Bad Wedges and have started looking around to see whats available. I have a Griff currently which i've just put up for sale in the Classifieds.

What I'm after is something like a 450SE or possibly a SEAC but after keeping up to date on the ongoing SEAC saga's of the moment, i dont think there are any currently available (well other than a white one i know of!).

I'd possibly look at a 400SE but it would need to be a very good example.

So whats out there?? Anyone got something i'd be interested in?? I'm not in a major hurry to buy so I'm prepared to wait and see what comes up. After all i still have my Griff to play with in the meantime!!

Tony, there was a Black 450SE for sale in south wales, just looked again in classifieds and its gone ?? somebody must have bought it. There is a few nice 400 around but nothing bigger at the min

I e mailed the guy that owns it and its still for sale, the add has just dropped off as mentioned.

Its my preferred car if and when i can sell my Griff, just curious to see if anything else maybe available or about to come up for sale...

I've been a wedge man from day one. My first experience of TVR's were Wedges back in the 80's. There's just something about them that appeals. If i had the money I'd keep the Griff and have a wedge as well but at this point I can only have one.

I do love my Griff to bits and it will only be replaced by one of the bigger badder wedges. I used to own a 450SE a few years ago and it was a brutal car to drive and stupid amounts of fun. A big wedge has the biggest 'Grin Factor' for me. A couple of weeks ago i picked mine up from its MOT and sat there was a gorgeous black 400SE and all the memories came flooding back...

Must be a 400 series car, as much as i like 350i's etc i've had a couple and i want a bigger engined wedge, i.e 400SE, 450SE or possibly a 420/450SEAC if one comes up at the right money.

Anyone got anything or know of anything available now or in the new year???

I'll be selling mine after Xmas. I'll drop you a pm later. Bit busy at the mo. It's a monster. & one of the best chassis I've seen.
It's not the 400 shape but the sum of the parts is awsome, recon box, new rad, bushes etc.

If your after an excellent 400se, mine really is a minter. It used to belong to PWD95 who posted above until we swapped wedges

I'd even consider taking a Griff in PX although it was the 500 I was really after, but if your 4 litre is in anywhere near as good condition as my 400 then I'd be interested...

The 450i looks very nice but its not really what i'm looking for at the moment, I prefer the 400 series shape and the interior as well. I've read about it before on Ph and i certainly agree it is an animal. I did ring my insurance company too but it doubles the cost of what i'm paying on the Griff.

L33, I have seen your car in the classifieds, its a really nice looking car and i love black on a 400. The interior is growing on me now, wasnt too kean to start with...lol. I've just added a few more pics on my classified ad literally taken two days ago so its current condition can be seen. Trust me its a lovely example and very well looked after. The chassis condition is the same all round as can be seen in the engine bay shot. Unfortunatly i cant get my SLR low enough to get any shots under the car though.

Current situation is that i have a very well known PH'er coming to see my car next week and i have someone else interested as well and due to see it in the next week or so. I did actually sell it this week but the guy has unfortunatly had to pull out due to unforseen circumstances.

The only time me and wifey argue, its about the wedge and how much time I spend with it instead of doing "manly" household chores such as fixing stuf around the house.
