Need to get some tyres & possibly brakes (discs & pads) over the next few weeks - anyone else thinking of buying some? Perhaps we could try and get a group buy discount?

Had a quick look on the web yesterday and arrived at the following:

4x tyres: £624.92 from blackcircles, fitted, Pirelli N3.
4x discs & pads: approx. £1100 from eurocarparts, supply only, OEM.

Any other recommendations for brakes/tyres?

Cheers,
Marc

Tyres you are pretty close. I got the same fitted earlier this year for about £15 less from protyre (owned by micheldever).

I always find www.mytyres.co.uk to be cheaper than blackcircles. And eurocarparts always seems cheapest for other stuff.

I found Bracknell Tyre & Battery were cheaper than mytyres.co.uk and that includes fitting.

Thanks all - i'll try Micheldever, protyre and Bracknell tyres too. But just thought before I called them i'd see if anyone else needed a set and potentially get a discount.

ps. Mytyres won't quote online for the rears. I guess there's a rather large margin on those ..

I got a fraction over those prices for tyres (225/40 18 & 285/30 18) for Pirelli Rosso N3s at my local tyre joint. One other offered to do the job for £622 all in but it would have been 1 week to get stock.

Maybe your sizes are different to mine, but those prices do not look like group buy prices.

They aren't - they are just the best quotes I could find on the web.

At the moment, chopperellis and I may both be looking for tyres, potentially another turbo driver too. If there were a couple more i'd hope that a supplier would offer a discount for what amounts to £3K's worth of tyres.

I used Camskill for my tyres - found them to be pretty good in all respects, you also get a tenner off if they deliver to a garage direct.

Brakes I sourced from ECP and they've been fine too.

What sort of discount do you hope to negotiate with a bulk purchase?

Hi all,

Just FYI the best/latest prices for these bits:

Tyres
Bracknell Tyres - £575 inc VAT, fitting, balancing, all 4 corners (Continental)

Brakes
Eurocarparts - £781.68 inc VAT, delivery, sensors & dampening bits, all 4 corners

Apparently there's a shortage of P0 rossos at the moment .. the continentals seem fine at the moment; certainly a big difference between very worn tyres and tyres with some tread!

As stated just VAT, no import duty from the EU.
