GS500 performance stats

Just out of interest, does anyone know what the performance stats are for a Suzi GS500 are.

Tis the only bike I've ridden but feels very slow now, but still quicker than most cars, I guess.

So would be interested to see the 'paper' figures for it.

My guess is...

0-60 - ~6sec?
0-100 - half a life time?

Lovely little bike: I used to ride a GSX400T which used an earlier incarnation of the same engine.
I never rode a Suzuki where the engine felt like it was the weakest link. However the 400T was fussy about tyres (probably not helped by the custom styling which dictated large front and small rear wheel) but on Metzelers and Marzocchi shocks it was the grippiest thing ever.
My 550 Katana was the same: superb engine but handling that could be scary, not helped by the weight of all that fuel up top.

There are no performance stats available as it has no performance whatsoever - you are in fact being propelled along by the joint powers of gravity and wind. Due to this, you may find the bike faster on blustery winters days than clear, still summer days.

Cheers, guys...was wondering as was truely uninspired when I did a couple of overtakes the other day...felt quite 'strangled' but then I guess it is only a 40-50hp bike!

When I get a bike I wan't it to be a bit err, quicker...

It's a good bike for what it is supposed to do & that's commute.

A couple more cylinders and an extra 100cc and then you'll start seeing some performance.

It's still capable of leaving the traffic behind nearly all conditions.
