Fitting new sills on a Disco

Has anyone here ever fitted new sills on a Discovery 200? Mine are rotten but I didn't want to cut the old ones out, I was wondering if they will sit over the top of the old ones. Not a good fix I know but I only want the car to pass a couple more MOTs before I scrap it.

You have to cut them out and you might as well do the inner sills while you are there. If your not a good welder don't bother trying as you have to cut the B post off at the bottom.

OK, thanks for that. I'll stick it on a ramp tomorrow and have another look at how bad they are and make a decision on it.
