Why do I need to be notified 61 times that a thread has been replied to?

How about 1, then wait until I visit? Seems a bit daft to me.

Just the way the system was originally written (about 5 years ago, that bit).

I agree that with the traffic going through now it is unnecessary. I will alter it next time I'm working on that section.
