Does anyone know if the police keep tabs on the various motoring forums out there?

I was at a meet down at Boxhill the other day and couldn't get near the place for the fuzz

How do they 'know' where meets are taking place, do they check the forums?

I don't know whether the police read the Forums noting where meets are to take place or not.

However with comouters and the internet being so popular I'd be suprised if they don't.

You can bet your glass eye on it that they do.
Itd be daft of them not to snoop to get info on what us "enemies of the state" are up to.
Sad but thats the way it goes.

Box Hill has been a biker meet for yonks. At the first sign of good weather, the cops head over there, same as all the bikers do.

Yes there are a few and my impression of them is that they are all good guys and very helpful. Most traffic cops are only interested in safety and use their powers of discretion frequently.

I can't imagine they really have the time and inclination to monitor this BB. Lets face it, we may be anti camera in most situations and rebel in a fairly mild manner but nothing really worth watching. The cops on here even warn us if we say/print the wrong thing. How good can it get!

I reckon emails and phone calls are of more interest oh and bugged phones at police stations, so they can listen to the scrotes who have just been bailed. A huge amount of they're info comes from informants, loads of it!

I am old bill, enjoy this forum, and the very valid comments that come out of it. If I can I like to give decent help to enquiries in general, but overall I enjoy motoring, and reasonably spritely cars in general, I certainly wouldnt be a sad git and wade through forums just for the sake of being an 'enemy of the state' I would probably go for a pint instead.
Regards to all.

Mike it happens and they have been caught doing it. They use a junior officer, a rationed length of string and 2 baked bean cans. Oh, a special takes notes. Keep up the good work, cheers.

Do you remeber the tv comedy sketch where you see the sign revolving outside scotland yard. The camera follows the pipework all the way into the bowels of the building and you find a bobby rotating a winding mechanism which in turn rotates the sign.

Everytime I see a news program which shows the sign in the background it makes me titter!.

Ditto.

Also remember from Not The 9 O'Clock News (?) when it is in the background during the interview of a Policeman about crime.

... And it gets nicked while they are talking

The police post on the East of England cruise (maxxy P brigade) forum under the subtle name 'Yarmouth Police' (or something similar) to try and get some decent communication going between the cruisers and the police. Seems a good idea to get both parties involved at every level.
