Anyone free for Rockingham on Wednesday...

Hi everyone,
Practical Performance Car magazine (www.ppcmag.co.uk) is doing a feature comparing naturally aspirated and turbocharged cars. It's going to be a seven page feature at the front of the magazine.
We'd love to feature a Monaro (the N/A version) in it but as we've been let down by another car it's all a bit last minute - so sorry!
If you've got a Monaro and would like to have it in the mag and have a full set of professionally taken photos of it, plus can get to Rockingham Speedway on Wednesday December 13th, please get in touch asap on ed@ppcmag.co.uk, 01780 758801 or 07815870911.
All the best,
Ed Hall

oh no, not a yellow one, please
If its a n/a car can't we at least get a fast colour - say black

Think they like the idea of a bright car rather than a dull black one. Getting up early tomorrow to get there in time. Apparently the car that dropped out was an Escort Cosworth with an LS1 dropped in. Will try and take the video camera and get some shots myself.
Having looked at the website for them I think the Monaro fits the bill for a practical performance car.
Have to see what they think.

Well, think it was good fun.
Cold and windy and stood around for 6-7 hours but,
Some really good photographs taken (once I have the proper ones from the photographer I will post them). For me to get in last minute I was quite pleased with the amount of time my Monaro had under the lens. I think compared to other cars ours are quite powerful. Yellow is without doubt the most photogenic colour, if not the fastest.
Without stopping everyone buying the next issue of 'Practical Performance Car' I won't go into details of the comparisons except to say it was high tech vs capacity so I was up against an Intergrale.
I have directed Ed here to do some research as my history on the car is not as precise as some.
Am hoping for a cheap supercharger from someone as I did describe the mods done on my car and by whom (!).
There was a nasty rumour going round that the Monaro's don't have a good owners club (if thats the right word) as in its a lonely experience. More so on the road I think as this forum will testify.
And, finally, am rather hopeful you will see the car on the front cover of the next issue.......
ok, the only pics I took and yes I did half a doughnut on the tarmac at the end (and got told off by a saftey steward who appeared from nowhere).

Nice one Alan, look forward to seeing it in print
On another note I did a wee "my first month with a Monaro" write up for Total Vauxhall in the last few weeks with some pics of mine, not sure if they're going to appear alongside their VXR500 writeup (think it was written by someone on here too from what I can remember the TV lads saying). I've coverage from our local track here of drifting going in the next issue of TV too (due in shops right before xmas), sadly no ro's as mine was the only one on track and I only did one 20-30ft drift before deciding to keep the head screwed on (track was a bit on the wet side) before I let it mate with the tyre wall (can't do something like that, yet!). Plenty of old Carltons and Omega's out there though showing everyone how it should be done, I was lucky enough to get the passenger seat of the eventual winner of the 2006 champion too, so great fun was had
