Slightly Peeeed Off
Discussion
Just before the owners day I had the front re-sprayed as some woman reversed into me then last week I had repaired the back section where someone had reversed into the car and done the off's.
Drove up to see my girlfriend at the weekend in leicester and parked the car outside over night on the Friday. Got up in the morning to go out and somone has scratched my nice new front (6"
, looks like a bike pedal or pram as it is low down under the front indicator.
And to top it off on my way home last night my wipers stopped working. This happend a while ago when the ball joint that joind the bar between the wiper broke at the weld. I had it machined down, drilled and tapped and screwed it back together. This time the plastic part of the arm that clips onto the ball joint on the motor broke so the arm pings off when in use.
I temp fixed it with elastic bands and now have had the ball joint drilled and tapped so washers are now holding it on.
Sorry for the rant but peed off about the panit work.

Had a similat thing in the Honda, someone opened the door of there Saxo into me whilst I was in London visting friends, I mentioned it them & asked if they were going to pay to get the dent removed, the response was "it's only a
ing car", so I waited till they were in the supermarket & stuck a screwdriver through the doorskin.
Not clever but made me feel better.

"Elastic Band Man" - able to fix troublesome mechanical problems and fasion video camera mounts with nothing more than elastic bands - is there no end to his powers..?
Sorry to hear about your paintwork mate - I would be gutted too if I'd just had it done. You could give Chips Away a try. I used them when some poor misguided fool [think that's what I said at the time] keyed the entire side of the Merc I used to have.

Cheers paul, I'm going to call them but last time with regards to the back they said silver ooh to hard to match unless its in a smaller less obvious place!
I will try them though.
You going in Jan (I will but I wont be tracking the car).

Sorry to hear that. Silver is a buggers mudder to match as I know with the X5 (Chipsaway et. all refused to do a similar scratch).
Is it all the way through to the primer? If not this will remove it

I removed a 16" long scratch put in by a puddy cat sliding all the way down the front and having a claw out on the front clam with that.

Whats strange is that it looks like the paint layer has flaked off with the scratch and there is another layer underneath. It looks like the new spray job was done on top of the other, but I thought the old paint surface would have been rubbed down and a new layer of primer done?
