Ignition Switch wont turn off

Turned the ignition off this morning when parking my 93 chim and all the dash board lights stayed on. Tried the key in the ignition again, it operates normally, but will not turn off ingnition system and all dashboard lights remain on. Assume I have a ignition switch problem. Anybody had a similar problem that I can compare notes with. Will try a new ignition switch. Who makes the switch, is it a vauxhall cavalier item ? I Would welcome feedback from the knowledgable PH chim owner brigade. Regards, MGMAN50

Id try swapping the ignition relay first (they are common 70A relays) - you will probably want to pull it out to save battery anyway.

Sure you haven't just left the side lights on?

Thanks for your advice SPEND it was spot on. It was the Ignition feeds relay. Its got heavy duty spade connectors on it and it was quite hard to locate a new item. But once I fitted the new relay all was ok. Thanks again for your spot on advice.
