Got a parking ticket last night for parking on the pavement outside my girlfrind's house (in fairness, it's a main road).

On the ticket, they spelt Lotus wrong - I was wondering if this is enough to contest it?

nope. I'm sure one the inhouse BIB will be along shortly to confirm law.

edited to include: i'm not 100% if this will work in your case, but in certain cases you are allowed time for unloading. I believe it's about 20 mins. Regardless of which it's always worth challenging, even if you're not successful. Keeps them busy, and the more people doing that the better!

Thats correct. You are often allowed a grace period for loading and unloading, including pets, funnily enough!

Interesting... the time the ticket said I was there was a 13 minute window, so I might be able to argue it then...

Further info, there were double yellows there, but i was fully up on the pavement, with enough room for pedestricans to get past.

As far as I know, parking behind yellow lines is the same offence as parking on them and there is no grace period. Obstructing a pavement is a different offence.

How can you mis-spell Lotus?

Doubt you'll get off, but copy the ticket to your local rag. Get them to cause the issuer maximum embarassment.

"Lotis," How stupid must they have been - it's written across the back in big silver letters!

Oh well.

Also, anyone know what a CU75 is, as that's the offence code and I can't seem to find it on Google.

Cheers again!

I believe that is the offence for Owning a nicer car than the traffic warden

Plod's been doing this in spates near to where I live. They wait until the evening and then go on the prowl in areas of narrow streets with higher population ie terraced housing and flats etc.

I drove past and noticed they had put tickets on at least half a dozen cars!! If these cars had been parked in the road, quite simply they would block it. Where are they supposed to park?
